DetailsFollowing Christ and discipleship can be used synonymously. At the root of our decision to follow Christ is the ability to trust God. This is a learned behavior for any believer. The more we walk with Him the more we learn to Trust Him.

The Bible claims to be true and tell us the story of our world’s history and the purpose of human life. The problem is that many believers in Jesus have reduced the Bible to a bunch of different stories that don’t all tie in the the greater narrative. We have to view the Bible as a story which God uses to reveal himself to us. This week we celebrate the “Pinnacle” of God’s story –Jesus’ resurrection.

Jesus unleashes a bold statement during His sermon on the mount that should forever change the way that we live. He said, “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them…” (Matthew 7:12). This principle commands us to navigate life by acknowledging others needs, and then acting upon them as we would like others to act upon our needs.
God has given us the opportunities to approach Him in prayer, with the purpose of getting a deeper Kingdom perspective on things.
We have heard so many times that only God can judge. While there is an element of truth to that statement God has called us to be discerning. So while we not the ultimate judge of people’s destination or motivation, we are called to be discerning.
God requires his people to make disciples which is not an easy task. In the series [RE] we discuss mission, vision and values of Northeast Community Church, and how it ties into God’s purpose for the church. We must remember.
