Discovering Membership

At Northeast Community Church being a part of a local church should be an important part of each believers life. We want you to feel connected from the moment you walk through our doors and would love for you to consider Northeast Community Church (NECC) your church home.  We do not require you to attend a class or join our church as a member to hang out with the NECC family.  In fact, we encourage you to attend a group or serve on a team to learn more about who we are as a community of believers.  All are welcome to explore what we teach and how we live in community with one another with no pressure to join.  If you would like to take a step towards “Discovering Membership” at NECC, we offer a class that gives an overview of our church.  Sign up for an upcoming class here.

What does membership commitment look like at NECC?

Partnership

We view those who have committed to the vision of the church as not merely members but partners.  We intentionally use the term partner to define our members, because we want our people to understand they play an integral role by taking on responsibility and ownership for the well-being of the church.  Members of NECC invest their time, talents, and treasures with the purpose of seeing the church accomplishing its mission.

Living on Mission
Our mission is to glorify God by making disciples that “Know”, “Love” and “Serve” Jesus Christ.  We believe that becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ requires engagement with other believers centered around spiritual disciplines that can be found in the context of the local church.  At the center of our partners investment, in NECC is a public commitment made alongside other followers of Jesus to represent and proclaim God’s glory together.

Biblical Teaching

In the early church, the Christians formed a community around the teaching of the apostles.  “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” (Acts 2:42 ESV)  Our partners understand that the Bible is the ultimate authority and are committed to  being students of Jesus’ teaching and desire to practice their faith with others.  Which means they are committed to implementing Biblical principles in their homes, loving their neighbors in their community and accountability to leadership.
