Northeast Kids

Inspiring children to discover the joy of knowing, loving, and serving Jesus Christ.

At Northeast Community Church, we create a space where your child feels safe and loved. We desire to give each child an experience based on the verse Luke 2:52, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.”

We want to help your kids grow strong in the WISDOM of God’s Word, just as they grow strong physically. We try to help them grow in the favor of God (their FAITH) and the favor of man (their FRIENDSHIPS).  Kids ministry is offered at every campus for children ages 2 months – 5th grade during the same time as the adult weekend services.

What to Expect

Fun. Kids have a blast while discovering God’s love.

Truth. Kids are empowered by the truth of the Bible to make wise choices and live for Jesus.

Friendship. Kids find meaningful relationships with leaders, each other and Jesus Christ.

Safety. Kids have a safe place where they are loved and free to be themselves.

Relevance. Kids hear God’s word taught creatively and learn to apply it to their world.

Family. Families are encouraged and empowered to be their child’s spiritual champion.

As soon as you arrive, no matter which service you attend, you’ll find a team of people ready to help you get to the right place. Our volunteers will greet you, guide you through the check-in process.  They will be happy to answer any questions you have about our kids ministry.

For your infant
We know that leaving your new baby for the first time can be overwhelming. The volunteers in our infant classrooms have been chosen for this age group because of their love for babies and their training to care for all of the needs of your infant. We hope that the following information will help you and your baby have a great experience.
Please bring diapers, bottles, pacifiers, and any special blankets that will soothe your baby through the service. Please label all items.

Let our volunteers know any details concerning feeding and napping schedules.
We adhere to a one volunteer to every three children ratio in our infant and crawler classroom.

For your Preschooler

It is our joy to introduce little ones to their Heavenly Father. So, before they leave our kids ministry, we want them to know:

God loves me. God made me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Every month we focus on one of these three basic truths. Each week your children will learn a Bible story and participate in fun, creative activities that teach the one key truth for the month.

If your child is potty training, please communicate that to the teachers and bring an extra change of clothes.

Volunteers are never allowed in the bathrooms alone with children. They will assist them with clothing (as needed) outside the door and with hand washing afterwards inside the classroom.

For your elementary school-aged child

Kids are challenged every weekend to trust God, make wise choices, and build lasting friendships. Here’s what a typical day at Children’s church looks like.

Welcome: Each child is greeted by their group leader(s).

Large Group Time: Shortly after arriving, kids begin large group where they experience the Bible story, worship and free time on the playground.

Small Group Time: After participating in worship, kids have time in a small group where their leaders help them understand how the day’s bottom line can fit into their everyday life. Group leaders are serious about having fun with kids and passionate about teaching the TRUTH.

Security Check-in
When you visit for the first time, you will be asked to fill out a Family Information Form for your family. If you’d like, you may complete the form in advance to save a little time when you get here.  You may print one and bring it with you. This information will be entered into our computers and kept private. You will receive nametags for your children and Security ID receipts for you to use to pick your children up.

Please note that you must have your Security ID receipt to pick up your children. Each receipt has a random code listed for your family and our volunteers will check those codes to ensure that your children are only picked up by you.

We complete screening forms & criminal background checks on all individuals working with our kids.
