Reconciliation = Gratitude and Thankfulness.
During this time of the year, it is very important for us to consider our position in Christ Jesus. In our culture, we tend to think too much about gifts during this season. While we ought to sit and think about where we once were, and where we are now based on the sacrifice that God made on our behalf. He gave of His best – He gave of Himself!
“While we were still helpless [powerless to provide for our salvation], at the right time Christ died [as a substitute] for the ungodly. Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to willingly give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a good man [one who is noble and selfless and worthy] someone might even dare to die. But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Therefore, since we have now been justified [declared free of the guilt of sin] by His blood, [how much more certain is it that] we will be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more certain, having been reconciled, that we will be saved [from the consequences of sin] by His life [that is, we will be saved because Christ lives today]. Not only that, but we also Serve rejoice in God [rejoicing in His love and perfection] through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have love now received and enjoy our reconciliation [with God].” –Romans 5:6-11 AMP
Reconciliation yields thankfulness and a heart of gratitude. The Scripture above tells us that, “while we were still sinners, Christ died.” The implications are: we were enemies to God, not on the same team, and our wills Wholesale Seattle Seahawks Jerseys didn’t align with His. Now stop and think about this for a moment: God had a plan set in motion that included us. His plan ab had our best interests in mind, and all the while we were not even thinking about God. And if contemplating this doesn’t move our hearts to be grateful and thankful for the opportunity to be back in “right-standing” with God, I don’t know what will.
